Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) services are currently on strike. As a result, there will be disruptions to mail delivery across Canada, which may affect how you receive your policy documents or claims payments from your insurance company.
Please review the following questions and answers below, which can help reduce the potential impacts of this business interruption.
How can I retrieve my policy information?
If you are an Intact Insurance customer, you may access your personal policy documents, billing statements, proof of insurance, claims information and more, through Client Centre. If you haven’t signed up yet, download the Intact Insurance app from the Apple App Store or Google Play today.
Intact Insurance commercial customers will continue to receive their policy documents electronically, either through Document Download or File Transfer.
If you are with another insurance company, you may contact your broker to discuss your personal or commercial insurance policy, and request your documents by email.
I usually mail a cheque to pay for my insurance premium – what other options do I have?
- You may set up internet / telephone banking to pay your insurer directly.
- Sign up for a pre-authorized payment plan.
- Secure, online credit card payment.
- Cheques can be dropped off or sent via courier, during regular business hours at your local branch. Please visit our locations page for branch addresses and hours.
How will I receive my claims payment?
Most insurance companies are managing single-payment claims as follows:
- EFT (electronic funds transfer)
- Courier delivery
- Pick up at the insurer or our branch by special arrangement
